Conscious Awareness

When I need a screwdriver, do I need a phyllips or flathead? Considering a project, do I need gloves, a scraper, a saw, some sandpaper?  I ask myself these questions each time I begin a project.. In other words, I go to my tool box or my shed and pick up the exact tools I need for the job.

Living life to my best ability, I have other tools, and they’re intuitive.  I began trusting my intuition about 20 years ago. It’s a process to be sure, and when I made that conscious decision I had only one caveat, if I thought I was supposed to get on a plane and go somewhere, I WOULDN’T! Living intuitively takes practice along with mindfulness and lots of FAITH.

Living in the NOW is spontaneous.  It’s a responsive process to that which LIFE presents to me.  I make no things-to-do lists. I mark appointments on a calendar and do a grocery list. Eckhart Tolle says he provides tools through his books and speaking.  I get it!  My books and other information from my spiriiual mentors are all tools, and I’m free to pick and choose exactly which tool I need for my LIFE PROJECTS! Sitting in the silence begins the solution.

Living my life is not about panicking or fearful thinking.  It’s about trusting self with the realization that my intuition is God speaking directly to me.  I’m speaking to myself! The trick is the LISTENING! There is no urgency to living.  There is thoughtfulness and joy and intention  and personal willingness to jump in with both feet! Ram Dass refers to the GAME.  Games are fun, and tricky and require strategy and they can be won.  In life, my game is not a competitive one. I open doorways and windows for me to see opportunity and warnings.  I recognize blessings and gratitude.  I provide my own soft pillows to fall upon.  I trust my intuition and it is serious business.

There is no need to worry when I trust my intuition because I know I am coming from my heart and as I’ve said many times, I don’t believe anything can go awry when I come from my heart. There is no place for ego.  It is a silent affirmation from me to me that I’m trying my very best in all situations to get the job done!

I have found more peace in my lifetime these days than ever before.  Granted, there was more hurry and scurry when I was younger and more activity in mainstream; however, there was more ego and less awareness and consideration back then as well.  I guess it is a Game of Life I’m in, and admittedly, it hasn’t been boring.  But there’s big truth in recommendations to stop and smell the roses, and sit in the silence and ponder how magnificent creation is.  Everything really is as important as it is unimportant. It’s about my own focal point. There is so much to realize.  It could never be forced on me.  I have been offered countless directions over the years, but it was the choices I made which led me here and NOW.

I love the Serenity Prayer:  “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, oourage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”

I think it’s the acceptance that is my  greatest challenge.  Of course, when LIFE provides me pleasure, it’s easy to accept it.  It’s when I am challenged with outcome which I don’t want that it’s difficult to accept.

I think serenity and courage and wisdom  are intuitive, and then acceptance reveals itself.

Blessed Be. To All Be Blessed.

Life can appear as a whirlwind sometimes…and if I let my thoughts pick up and attach and define, I do myself a true disservice.

I’ve been able to observe change, my ego’s attempts to disrupt me even more, and my ability to hold the course of desired peace in my heart.

I am filled with relief, and gratitude, and pleasant surprise, self-awareness, and astounding presence. I believe I have taken a step upward in learning, i.e., upward in the vertical(spiritual) dimension, as against a traditional effort in the horizontal (human) dimension. I have made a conscious decision to hand over the reins and allow my Deep I to lead me. For those readers who are followers of Eckhart Tolle, you will understand what I mean here.

My understanding and spiritual progress is within me and that’s where it belongs.  There doesn’t have to be testament to the intricacies of my process.

It would seem I have created a conundrum or a contradiction; however, I’m merely trying to exemplify what a satisfying experience it is to hold inside myself the ‘meat and potatoes’ of my spiritual progress as I’m writing this blog, yet I want others to also know that it is occurring. I want to give others hope if they have been searching for relief in their own lives and have yet to receive it that it does come and at precisely the right time…CONTINUE IN FAITH.

Now more than ever I intend to keep my own counsel with the understanding that to explode all to the outside does in fact have a diluting effect to a point.  I’m feeling my strength impacting me within and it’s accompanied with a silent understandng that ego must stand down.

I hope this blog can be helpful.

Blessed Be.  To All Be Blessed.

This is a continuation of my personal experience with COMMITMENT!

I don’t think I’ve ever learned so much in such a short period of time than during the past month since my friend arrived to stay with me for these weeks.

To offer some background, we met on the internet, had spoken a few times on Zoom, and were members of a group. Our initial introduction was, perhaps, 1 1/2 to 2 years ago and our contact certainly wasn’t daily….more like monthly.

Fast forward to the present when events happened and she called me to inquire whether she could come stay with me for a time while she found  her own place in my town. She was familiar with the state of New Mexico. We were ‘adult’ about it before any decision could be made, and ultimately we ‘committed’ to doing it and we were absolutely going to do our parts to make it work!  At this time I had no clue that I was doing myself the biggest favor of my life!

Any relationship has its issues as we all know, but honestly, this whole process has been so enlightening to us both because we know that commitment means “no other alternative”, and so we both have put on our ‘big-girl britches’ and we are totally pledged to not only making it work, but we are enjoying this privilege in our lives.

I am aware that I ‘want’ to bend for the sake of our success toward our commitment. In this process, a sensation comes over me, i.e., I feel compassion sometimes, I feel selflessness sometimes, I feel excitement sometimes when I observe such positive results which come from no inconvenience on my part, but rather, from a sincere endeavor by me.  It’s easy to reflect on those times in my life when it was apparent my focus was so far away from this kind of attitude.

Please understand this is difficult to describe, but it is happening, and I am a far better person for it.  I am expanding my capacity for understanding and altruistic thinking.  Plainly, I am caring outside of myself and it feels wonderful and not only that, I feel like I am completing myself in some important way as a human being.

Incidentally, my friend and I have conversations about this, and her experience is similar.

So, my friends, this is my story and I’m sticking to it!  Ha! 🙂

Blessed Be.  To All Be Blessed.

Amen…And So It Is.    ~Gaya

I could hardly wait to get here!

I’ve been wrestling with overeating for about a month and a half!  This is a bothersome state of affairs as far as I’m concerned, and everyday I find myself ignoring my wishes …or my intention…and just keep doing what I want to do! You see, that’s it:  I fight with myself about what I do, and what I want to intend to do!

For so many mornings, I approach the new day with what I want to intend to do, and by early afternoon, I sabotage my plans…a very willful act!

I asked for help yesterday, and this morning I’ve begun thinking a new way:  I have to get out of my human self and link with my Spiritual Essence.  This business of hanging out in this material world and then professing a spiritual connection has to be evidenced by my own deliberate meld.

I looked at my little Porter and stated out loud, “I am a living being and so are you!  We are one! You love me unconditionally and I look after your needs with love and compassion because you cannot do it alone.”  And, then I extended this thought and realized that everything I come into contact with… as close as my own home… cannot do well without me, and I became mindful that I am enhanced by the warmth of my home in this current cold weather.  I am self-fulfilled by the energy I exert when I beautify this place I dreamed about and chose and love .. I began to realize the interaction which takes place because of my mindfulness and feelings of this deeper connection to everything. Gratitude comes as I feel this deep connection.

I feel my complicit behavior to that which is around me…Like this morning when I donned a sweater that I’ve owned for more than 25 years.  I wore it when I taught school all those many years ago!  I had relegated it to the  ‘wear-it-when-you’re-doing- real-work-around-the-place drawer!”  But this morning, I gleefully brought it out and loudly stated, “I still love this sweater!” and it feels so good wearing it again!

When I sat at the breakfast table I was thankful for my food in a much different way. I realized I had  fed the birds earlier this cold morning, and I was thankful I did that as well – consciously aware I had taken care of them too and I was thankful I had the bird food to do it.

This business of “getting down to it” is so very intimately connected to my life and the way I live it.  It’s about inclusion…including all else in my life picture. It’s about selflessness. It’s about the realization that I am cloaked by so very much around me which supplies my every need. It’s about realizing I am living under Grace. It’s about appreciation and honoring my entire existence and the existence of all else as well.  It’s about all the creature comforts I have and wanting to extend comfort to that which needs me.

I think I more fully understand  the statement I’ve made so often:  “I am inextricably connected to and unconditionally loved and supported by God.”  I now feel that in reverse.  “ALL ELSE is inextricably connected and unconditionally loved and supported by Me.”  What an Onion Peel!  I DON’T EVER WANT TO LOSE THIS THOUGHT.

I believe I have a newfound respect for my responsibility to me.

Blessed Be. To All Be Blessed.

‘Understanding’ is humbling and powerful.   ~Gaya

No question, I’m getting pretty comfy in my new place!  Porter knows our routine down to the minute, and I have found that my GRATITUDE keeps me grounded in astounding ways.

THOUGHT is great when it is constructive and innovative and creative and happy and motivating and intentional.  It is MY election to improve my surroundings…emotionally, physically and spiritually.

I recently completed painting the ceiling and walls in my living room and dining area!  This was a feat, but doable.  The outcome is amazing and such an improvement around here.  Next comes the kitchen, and other rooms too, as long as my energy and stamina and physical ability hold out!

What occurs to me this morning is that “accomplishment”  is also evident internally in my thoughts and emotions, as well as obviously in the visual, and it all has to do with my wellbeing. When I’m thinking  I’m already in the creative process as ideas begin to swirl, and these ideas are all about making ME happier!  It’s not about what I’m lacking or any dissatisfaction, it’s about how can I get a greater shine to my life and my surroundings…a continuous polishing to my whole existence while I’m alive!

Now I’m referring to ATTITUDE. It’s about helping myself!  It’s about my own proactivity  which spurs me on providing the constant link to the Ease and Grace in my life. I think I maintain an overview of my surroundings and my physical wellbeing  which ‘lubricates my life machine’, if you will. For a fact, if I don’t do it, who/what will?

I follow my GPS when I’m driving to an unfamiliar area, and I guess I use my GTA when I’m navigating my own life.

And, not to forget your ESP!  ~Gaya

So, I started this blog with a technical problem:  It wouldn’t work!  This is one time I couldn’t accept what is is, without looking into it further, right?  Without any panic, just using my God-given brain, I followed common channels and was able to solve the problem…obviously…I’m typing my new blog!

What is stirring within me right now is the recognition at a very basic level that I have internal power(s) which serve me well at any given time, and they are only interfered with when I allow myself to react rather than respond.  THINKING makes it so…irrational thinking, panic reaction and fear, turn me into a robotic anxious state, and off the rails I can go. I remember this from many instances in my past.

There’s no need to go off the rails at all!  All I have to do is quietly  (within myself) gather my composure and remind myself that I CAN!

(As an aside, I am now reminded that my mother once said that some of my first words were “I can, I can”, and this usually came when she was trying to take my hand to guide me, or she was trying to show me something.  Doesn’t this illustrate,  ‘out of the mouths of babes’?)

I’ve been working on getting my garden in shape at my new home.  This takes planning, hard work, and an attitude which says, how much will I get done today?  NOT  when will I finish, or will I get this done?!!  No question I have worked much more slowly, but it’s coming together. I can’t plant yet till I’m sure no more frosts are coming, but I’ll be ready!  Confidence! This is what I have.  It’s only about me wanting to tackle something that I’m confident I can do, however more slowly I must do it,.. I can still do it!

Atta Girl, Kaye.  You’ve still got it!  And, I’ll continue to ‘have it’ as long as I’m doing something.

Blessed Be.  To All Be Blessed.  Stay safe, Be well.

I’ve now come to the conclusion that living life is the accomplishment of life itself!

Was it Laurel and Hardy who said, “Now that’s another mess you got me into”?  Looking at my life like this, boy I got myself out of lots of messes!  Now that was accomplishment too!  Coming through the tunnels of pain and grief and sorrow, self-hate, forgiving another (beginning with forgiving myself)…huge accomplishments! Falling down, and getting up more; keeping Faith and Love and Compassion and Kindness in my beingness after I felt I had been denied it;  finding an optimistic viewpoint, no matter what seemed to be existing to the contrary as I continued on my Forever Path – these were all unsung accomplishments as I continued to live my life.

Ah, yes, perspective:  as I produce a different thought I receive a different feeling which then produces another reality for me to consider.

Recently, I’ve been viewing my life in terms of dreams being fulfilled.  These were conscious dreams. These dreams were filled with wishes and hopes and ‘ifs’.  I wanted them enough to keep them alive, and this is important. But what about all the other positive results and happenstances of my life which I wasn’t ‘conscious’ of?  What about the Blessings I have received throughout my lifetime which involved Grace?

There is no need to bolster myself up and make claim to what all I think I’ve done in my lifetime.  It matters not to the world at large.  It’s the intrigue about it…that it has happened, in spite of everything else that has happened. I am a hero to myself, that’s all there is to it.

It’s GRATITUDE that fills me with humility right now. I’ve been doing what I came here to do for 84+ years, and I will continue to do just that!  It’s nothing to brag about, but it is something to respect and remind myself that whatever I have done has come through me, and then I gave it form.  This is what I do.  I conceive an idea, grab onto it if it resonates with me, and then I make choices which give my ideas form.  Again, it comes through Blessings and Grace and to realize this sets my EGO on its heels!

How often have I said, ‘there but for the Grace of God go I’?  Why would I  find it necessary to use the misfortune of another to compare my own situation so I can feel better!!

I have found another level of awareness…another shift in my perspective… Peace and Calm… I love myself more right now. I love you more right now. WE all are LIFE, not to be compared…we are unique unto ourselves.

Living is what Life is About…It is Everything.    ~Gaya

I’m comfortable where I am.  I’m closer to nature than I have been in years. I can feel that I am going with the flow of my life. I’m meeting people who fit right into ‘my way’.  People around me show me they like my company.  I feel the generosity of others in many different ways, i.e., from a freely offered gesture to be of more help, to actual gifts of sincere budding friendship. I feel my Peace.  I feel my Gratitude.  I feel I belong.  I am happy.  I have joy in my heart.  I’m starting to deeply understand “what is” and it is becoming easier to ‘let it be’. I think there is a ‘Peace of God which passeth all understanding’ and an acceptance of that silent personal Power. I understand the dynamic of making myself happy through visionary accomplishment and achievement and self-fulfillment.

Tomorrow is New Years Eve Day and I’m mindful how I want to revere this particular time of my life.  I have started a new life.  The few constants in my life remain:  My Spiritual Practice, my belongings, my friends, my son and my activities on the internet. I am not a stranger…I feel my connection…my Presence.  My surroundings welcome me too. Each morning I await with anticipation what is presented to me.  I feel my Blessings.  I’m aware I am Blessing my surroundings as well, in particular, I am giving my new home so much loving care.  I am Careful, i.e., full of care for myself and whatever/whomever I encounter.  It feels like I am within a ‘networking circle’.  Information comes to me as I share my needs and interests, and this can be through my thoughts and aspirations as well as verbally.  I believe this is the Universe, God, Creator, whatever you call it, providing what I need.

  • Matthew 10:29-31 Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.
  • I feel complete and competent. I feel uplifted emotionally and spiritually. Little did I know 4-5 years ago when I bought a warm jacket that it’s perfect for this chillier Winter climate!  Unwittingly, I came prepared to this new state and home!

I am building my Faith, it’s inevitable.  LIFE is such a gift. What’s around us is such a gift. Those we meet are such a gift. Every experience we have is such a gift.

Happy New Years yet to come to All. Stay Well, Be Safe.  Blessed Be to All.

That’s what I said early yesterday morning! Can’t remember the last time I heard an owl, that’s for sure.  It brings me pause…undoubtedly there have been myriad things in my lifetime that were so important at the time that simply slipped away because I didn’t capture them.  We’re told “Stop and smell the roses” (or the coffee). Then, there’s this poignant one:  “You’ll never miss your mother ’til she’s gone.”

I’m reminded that everything is notably important at the time!

When I am in the state of conscious gratitude I can list some things that come to my mind.  BUT, as I write this morning,  clearly there is much more specificity to life.  There is an urgency each moment and that’s what living in the NOW is all about.  It’s all these fleeting moments that have made up my life.  I am an artist, after all!  And my amazing life portrait is captured by my eyes only! The thrills are never gone.  The colors never fade. I am the beholder! All of life is special!  As long as I cherish my life, I’ll have no regrets.

I recall a live stream I did many years ago where I used the phrase ‘exalt yourself’.’  We ought honor and exalt ourselves and our existence.  We have such ability to always be the prize in our own lives.  It is an invaluable treasure we discover when we silently realize synchronicity in our lives; when we begin to grasp the broader scope of our Beingness; when life takes on this specialized opportunity of awareness.

I am at the tip of my own iceberg. I realize now there have been so many iceberg tips! Eureka! There’s always something new coming to me.  How on earth can I ever be bored and without wonder? What an appropriate time of year to express JOY TO THE WORLD! … JOY TO MY WORLD!

Listen in the silence, and see in the darkness, no need to question, all is right NOW.  ~ Gaya

Blessed Be.  To All Be Blessed.  Stay Safe and Be Well.

It’s not ‘same old, same old’;  I realize I make my life  ‘same new, same new’!

So, folks, I made my move.  I’ve accomplished making a new thought come true.  It’s about creation.  It’s about listening to my inner voice.  It’s about self-fulfillment, satisfaction, and self-motivation.  Now that I’m here and settling into my new home, I have turned a new page in my life, and there are new horizons…literally.  Life now presents a newness to me, and my feelings are that I’ve been waiting and readying myself for this time  and NOW THIS IS THE TIME TO ENJOY IT FULLY.

I don’t feel alone.  I don’t feel lost. I feel more like I have found newness in my life.  New friends, new scenery, new creativity, and most of all, I feel comfortable with all of it. This is living!

I am now catching the dream at my DreamCatcher Ranch!  There’s lots to do here. And, I have the desire and time to spend doing it!  There’s no rush…just greeting each day with enthusiasm and gratitude and an optimistic attitude. (Wait a minute…isn’t this the way it’s supposed to be every day? YES!)   And I realize I am always responsible for making it so.  Making a move out of state may sound a bit radical, but apparently, it was what I needed.  I guess the point is, when I recognized I had impetus for making this big change, it felt easy and doable and ultimately it was. Things fell into place…I had lots of help…there was no push and shove…and looking back, it really does feel like it was meant to be.  I guess all things we do are meant to be.

Life is a gift of experience and learning. And, it’s by our own doing we liven things up when we see we are ready for newness and change.  There will always be something around the next corner I guess.  But Here and NOW, I am grateful for recognizing what all has gone into this life I am living right NOW.

I am mindful of a daily prayer:

This morning I will say, something great is on the way, God sends his blessings to me.

God is the light of my life, the source of my imagination, God in the midst of me knows.

He gives me food for thought, ideas for excellent service, divine intelligence and an abundance of faith.

God in his love pours forth his goodness upon me and my life and world show forth his perfect order.

You are Life.   ~Gaya
