Living in the NOW

‘Now is the time for all good men [women] to come to the aid of their country.’  Does this look familiar to some of you?  It is the sentence we used in typing class.  Why I thought of it this morning, I don’t know…but isn’t it appropriate?

If I’m going to come to the aid of my country, I have to come to my own aid first.  This means back to basics when I think this way.

I turned 83 this past week and I must say, it feels good.  I’ve been on this earth quite a long while.  So much has happened. And, these days, we are experiencing something very new…IT’S A FIRST FOR ME IN ALL MY YEARS.  In all my time, I guess it’s the right time for me to experience this pandemic virus, Covid 19.

Every time is the right time for each one of us.  We all have our own perception of things, we have our own reality, we think peculiarly to ourselves.

TIME. I have as much as I need to do what has to be done.  There is always just enough of it to complete each moment I am alive.   It’s always available to me…like an never-emptying vessel. I have it when I’m sleeping and when I am awake.  I can use it however I wish, to do with as I choose.   I can choose to repeat, or change, or waste it.  I can spend time, I can never save it.  Yet, it’s always at my fingertips.

Time is like a magic wand.  Wherever I place my attention and intention, I make choices and take actions and create my world…all in the time I have.  At the end of the day it’s about ME and how I’ve utilized MY time.  At the end of the day, it’s about what I’VE been up to!

As of this moment, I have a new respect and concept of TIME.  I value it more. It is truly an overlooked treasure. As long as I am breathing, I am ‘in the Grace of Time’.  I am the magician in my life.  I can take time to do anything.

Blessed Be. To All Be Blessed.  All Be Well.

Variety is the spice of life!  Trying something new!  Hearing a suggestion and mulling it over for a while and VOILA’….new ideas come into the brain and all of a sudden another picture is formed.  I LIKE IT!

That’s what life is all about, isn’t it?  Clicking our feet in the air!  Resounding with vigor and intention, “YES!”

I can tweak my life any which way I wish.  I can turn a word or phrase into a painting…it depends upon the descriptive words I use.

I will bring new life into my blog.  After all, everything I write about is about me and what I am doing to continue to fulfill my authenticity.

I invite you to come along with me as I share in yet another way.  If you wish to subscribe to Liferays.net, scroll down to the bottom of the Ease of Living page and complete the form and you will receive emails whenever a blog is published.

I am now observing myself in a much different mode.  This feels interesting and new and exciting.  I am thrilling myself.

We share in this new adventure…we’ve been waiting…it has been

stirring and whirling and bubbling to the surface awaiting Creation.

Leave no stone unturned…it is all in your good timing.   ~ Gaya

You know what I just love about living in the Now?  No matter what comes up, I can do it!  Yes, this is so!  Think about it, I go through my days without much of a plan, and whatever I end up being involved in I do it!  I don’t take the time to ask if I want to do it, or if I can do it…I just do it.  No wrestling with the ego and no worthless thoughts about describing it or what I am going to do about it….  I JUST DO IT!

Come to think about it, this is just going with the flow, acknowledging what is, IS, and keeping on keeping on. There is absolutely no work to this way of living at all.  There is no fight to the finish.  There are no deep sighs of despair or boredom.   There is no worry over when I am going to be through and there is absolutely no consideration of what will I do next!

Way to go Sista’!

This is the perfect day to write this particular blog…The Fourth of July, 2019, our day of Freedom.  I am feeling free and willful and mindful and joyful with these thoughts.

I said to someone this morning when asked what I was going to do today, “….other than my daily stuff, whatever I decide is going to get me a jolt of fun.”  And this blog is just the beginning of my perfect Freedom Choices for today.  It’s early, I’m just getting started.

We love it when Kaye holds her heart in her hands and makes her day!   ~Gaya

Blessed Be.  To All Be Blessed.

When I am in problem – especially repetitive problem – it is good to try to put into perspective why I choose to view my problems as such hindrance, as against such privilege for me to gain awareness.  It is all too easy to immediately point fingers outward at people or circumstances and make them the objects of  why my life has chaos in it. Of course, my reaction to everything is key, but as I sit in the silence right now writing this blog, I can’t circumvent the fact that if I choose to be affected by anything outside of me, I have chosen to be attached to it in some way.

At birth I was physically detached from my mother when the umbilical cord was severed.  Henceforth, I became emotionally attached, totally dependent upon her nurturing and physical sustenance.  In the process of maturing, I learned rules and social skills from everyone I was around.  School became the first introduction to existence within another social setting and exposed me to academia and socialization in preparation for my entrance into the world as an independent human being, presumably ready to care for myself and become successful in my own life.

Trial and error, tripping and falling and getting back up for another stab at succeeding became routine. Through the years this process became easier because I learned I was capable; I was resilient; I was Faithful and Hopeful that this process of living life was totally worth it;  I was Blessed to have met certain Earth Angels who guided me and loved me through some difficult times; circumstances offered me opportunities along the way too – some of which I grabbed onto and some I missed.

Through all this, what can I apply to continue on my Forever Path with more ease?  Today I sit in the silence and again realize I need to find the answers within me.  I need to clarify my perception of my position within the chaos.   As much as I certainly do need others around me – friends, colleagues, peers, and neighbors – I am essentially alone.  The chaos I am feeling, is none other than my attachment.

Life serves itself up to me every day!  I live in the NOW of my life the best I can.  Life is nothing more than continuous NOWS, which fleet into PASTS.  Attachment is in the mind and wreaks havoc!

I need to let everything and everyone BE and I need to unconditionally accept ALL as it IS.  This goes for  accepting ME too!  I am FREE to change my perceptions to suit my Joy, Happiness and Peace.  I must be KIND in the face of adversity…kind to others and to myself as well.  This is a GENEROUS act.  I am Grateful.

My saving Grace is my desire and willingness and courage to change the things I can…ME.

Blessed Be.  To All Be Blessed.

It’s  a Monday, first day of 365 of  a work week of 52, in a month of 12, which makes up a year… all keeping up with time I claim doesn’t really exist!  I even entitled a chapter in my second book, The Book of Kaye (I AM), “All the time we have is all the time we need.”

This almost sounds like a riddle.  We take time out of our days to do something else, we stretch time to finish a project, we keep track of time as a measure of fulfillment  (baking a cake, finishing college, reaching scheduled appointments, etc.), we regret wasting time, and  yet, we claim we never have enough time.  For something that I claim doesn’t exist in space, I’m using time right now to express myself.

I sit here drinking my ginger-lemon tea, not knowing exactly what’s coming up for my ‘day fill’, and already I can sense I’m wondering about it.  Why wonder?  I live in the NOW!  I’m drinking tea NOW so there’s no going beyond that!  Furthermore, I’m writing a blog about it, so that’s about all of  the ‘NOW’ IN THIS ‘TIME’ I can handle!

And, what about rushing  around ” like a chicken with it’s head cut off”, or multi-tasking,  and all those birds we try to kill with one stone?

No wonder we have phrases like “Stop and smell the roses”, or “Slow down”, “Easy does it”,  “Savor the moment”, and so many more.

When all is said and done, I’m the one who is doing all of this to myself.  It’s for my pleasure I guess…something in my thoughts is giving me the ‘rule’ or the ‘direction’.  Now, I am reminded I recently mentioned in a live stream I was becoming more self-conscious because I was more aware of my thoughts and intentions. This is exactly why I am writing this blog.  To open myself  to more insight and shed more light upon my darkened corners.

I want to enjoy the privilege of living my life with as much peace and joy and thrill as possible.  With this in mind, I want to lose track of time altogether and pull myself inward to the awareness of really ‘being in the moment of the doing’. If I don’t get to it…So What?  All the more reason to Savor what I am into.

Cherish every single moment as the most important.

You don’t have to figure out anything more beyond this.  ~Gaya

I had occasion this morning to respond to a piece on Facebook.   My friend, whom I gave tribute to in my third book, writes through his personal spiritual connection, Rachael.  He was referring to “clarity” and its meaning in our daily lives.  I automatically typed my response.  It was Gaya responding. I knew I was having a personal Spiritual Breakthrough which finally had made its way to my conscious awareness.  IT’S HUGE!

I quote my response below in its entirety.  The design of this message has utterly opened a door for me that will undoubtedly  continue to re-play in my every day.  It totally expresses the Ease and Grace which I’ve been continuously looking to achieve as I enjoy the privilege of living my life.  It brings to the surface  how easy Life really can be, merely opening up each day with what we have inside of us:  we have an internal zest to thrive in life.  That is precisely why we keep on keeping on. But, in my case, if I don’t keep track of my efforts, and how they relate to my intentions of each day, it ultimately becomes a mish-mash of events…not the tightly woven masterpiece of what I’m really trying to accomplish.

  • “Kaye has been readying for her house guest’s arrival 4/1. This has been going on for some time now. She has been ‘preparing’ for it differently, i.e., doing a little something each day (thinking she tires more easily and doesn’t want to leave it all to the last week!) She realizes now that this really coincides with Rachael’s words, in that her clarity has been intention with completing tasks during each of these upcoming days. She has been choosing ‘details’ over and above the common ones, of floor and window washing, etc. She realizes every action is but a preparation for NOW – whether or not there is a guest arriving in a few days. Kaye is arriving each moment to her life.     ~Gaya”

I am now convinced my Soul, my Universe, my Source Energy, my Gaya, has held me with a tight grasp of love and care since I became; that I have been heard all of my existence, and have been guided and protected as I have made my way on my countless journeys, to exactly NOW.  I trust this will be infinitely so.

Blessed Be.  To All Be Blessed.

Not this year, 2019, nor any other year in the near future, will I “arrive!”  Actually, I’ve always believed this and never think of my life along these lines; however, I have had hopes I learned some lessons ‘FOR GOOD’, if this makes any sense.

Now, after having to backtrack my tracks, and rethink again my actions and reactions, I’ve begun to believe that because things and people and circumstances are always changing moment- to-moment, it’s all I can do to keep up, and keep my head on straight, as I try to do the right thing at any given moment in the NOW of anything and everything!  This is a mouthful and a brainful too!!

As old as I am, nearing 82, it is never “Too soon old, too late smart”, as the saying goes.  Guess there’s no real reason to always try to figure out stuff. Living in the NOW for nearly a year, I take everything as it comes for the ‘start up’ of each of my days, but now I’m finding out I don’t take the ‘end up’ of my days so well when I have some troubling experience pop up!  It is still the NOW, but why is it so difficult for me to navigate this? What a conundrum!

As much as I love to look around every corner for the surprise of life, I think I’ve forgotten I also need to accept the surprises  that occur, which may stem from familiar ground, but that ground hasn’t been remaining the same and, therefore, circumstances and people and things have been changing as well!  True enough, nothing is carved in stone, no matter what!

What have I learned?  Don’t come to a conclusion about anything.  Always be ready for anything. What IS NOW is ONLY NOW.   Everything presented to me is NEW IN THE NOW NO MATTER WHAT!

I don’t think I have to go back to my drawing board, but I fully intend to broaden my scope of thought about MORE (which may suggest futuristic thinking), from NOW on.

Happy New Day Everyone.  I do believe I gained my one step back, and added another one ahead.

Let’s hear it for giving ourselves some ‘wiggle room’.

Kaye finds it difficult to drop the reins of her life and accept fully ‘what Is’.  Of course, this stems from early childhood when it was near impossible to control her circumstances.   Every day she comes closer to us with full Faith and Trust that ALL is perfectly fine.  There is never a reason for her to be concerned.   She knows she is part and parcel of  ALL.             ~Gaya

Blessed Be.  To All Be Blessed.

I awake and it is ‘Today’, and if I live through the night, I awaken to another Today, and so it goes.  I guess there really is no time.  We put it into segments to be orderly for work hours, we separate night and day and we have created weeks and months and years.   We age ourselves from our birth dates, and in our early years of development we monitor such development by standard, and in our later years we monitor our decline, again by standard.

I spent every New Year’s Eve for more decades than I can count monitoring my past year’s accomplishments and then fast-forwarding 10, then 5 (as I aged) years ahead  semi-seriously dabbling in what I thought I might want to do in that future time space.   This was an elaborate exercise of listing things to do, looking to the future, and somehow trying to bring the dead past to life with the reminiscence of it all.   It all seemed to be so valuable to me, and none of it had to do with the PRESENT, the TODAY OF MY LIFE.

No more of this for me…I hinted last year was to be the end of this practice for me, and so it was! It’s my TODAY I breathe, touch, smell, feel, think about and do something about…My NOW!

No holding onto past accomplishments – that was then, this is NOW! No waiting for a set of circumstances to be perfectly in place before doing something.  It’s called strike while the iron is hot!  Our heart has a perfect way of letting us know when we want to do something.  It’s our mind that starts doing the calculating, provisioning, and conventionalizing our heart’s desire, until we finally can’t see where to begin…it becomes a downer instead of a motivated wonderful dream intention which our heart brought forward for us to act upon in the first place.

I have all I can do to take care of my own business and stay out of that of others; it’s the same about working with each  TODAY I’ve been given.  It requires devotion to myself, love of myself, filling each moment I am  breathing with an attitude of well-being, recognizing my gratitude and Blessings and my own POWER TO MAKE MY LIFE BETTER  during EACH DAY!  There isn’t much more time for anything else that I can do anything about.  The future isn’t in my grasp until it is TODAY.

I’m feeling wonderful about this shift in my thinking.  It falls into perfect place with my view on aging too.  As I’ve said before, I have no end game. My life IS, until it ISN’T, and when that happens, it will be ‘a TODAY’.

HAPPY NEW DAY EVERYONE!   Blessed Be.  To All Be Blessed.

Today I am coming face forward to something that I admit to myself I started as a seed thought well over a year ago!

What am I saying?  I’m trying to explain that I am witnessing the dynamic of just how the mind creates what it wants to see…and as long as that initial seed thought is there and germinating, the ‘workings from Source Energy’ are continuing toward the manifestation of this thought.

I can’t explain why I originated that seed thought…and believe me, I am honest with myself that I did, indeed, originate it!  It must be something from another life, is all I think it could be.  After all, when something or someone appears in our life…something or someone I have never known before in this life…there is a ‘lesson’ that is presenting to me.  Yes, a lesson is coming,  and I already know, it is my own integrity and honor and depth of character that is being tested.  I WILL MAKE IT!!!

No, Kaye, this is not from another life.  This is Your Essence bringing an experience to work through yet another lesson which needs to be dealt with, once and for all.  It is You, Kaye,  who has the propensity  either to ‘fall short’…or, as you say, “I will make it!!!”  You are acting out your own movie within the movie of this life and as We see, You are working through it successfully.   ~   Gaya

What a wonderment this blog has turned out to be for me!  I am the one who sits on my own shoulder monitoring carefully what goes on with me!  Call it Conscience or Wisdom or Character or Integrity or Honor or Truth to Self.  Yes, it’s Truth to Self.

Little did I know when I began this journey of transformation  July 4, 2015, when Liferays.net was originated, what was in store for me.  Thankfully, I  have tried to come from my heart and in honesty the best I know how.

Living in the NOW requires mindfulness and sincerity of purpose.  I have known this all along.  To be mindful means I have had to slow down…observe, not only my thoughts, but also that which presents to me.  Today’s awareness is an Acme of personal awareness.  It’s like I’m extinguishing a part of me…it’s letting go of something that I have been capable of doing which has never served me well.   As I write these very words, I feel extremely powerful in saying NO!  I WILL NOT GO DOWN THIS ROAD  AGAIN!

I realize this may read as an unsolved mystery, but believe me, Another of My Mysteries Has Been Solved!  Another mask has been pulled off!   HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Blessed Be.  To All Be Blessed.

I love my introspection, my considerations and my resilience!  I love my tenacity, my good intentions, my ability to objectively  criticize myself without bringing me to my knees of low self-worth.  I love it when finally I don’t have my first knee-jerk reaction of defensiveness; that I can listen, evaluate, and give myself time to assess a situation.  It’s the Peace in it that allows me to move ahead, with a much clearer head!

Isn’t it interesting that she is now able to write out loud , as she has already been thinking out loud?  It is good she is feeling so comfortable with herself knowing she is opening the gates of Connection to her Source even wider.          ~Gaya

The first descriptive word I used above is Introspection.  I am finding when I have no anxiety or rush to anything,  I am able to just ‘sit with something’ while I figure out the wrinkle I want to iron out.  The ‘answers’ reveal themselves for Consideration.

In the past, and  up to relatively recently,  I always created an urgency to get to the bottom of something…seeking closure.  It was like I forced myself to wrap it up ..get it out of my thoughts…and move on.   My marriages and divorces are good examples here.  In retrospect, I think this is what created even more chaos in my life! Nothing is so urgent, except if  a person needs to get to the hospital for immediate medical care!

I am much easier on myself these days (and years). I like the feeling of moseying along, picking up on my own innuendos  – taking to heart what presents and how I am triggered by it.  Still, there’s no need for urgency, just an indicator that I know I want to make a change, or  tweak something I’m doing with my Life.  I think life is simple if I keep it simple.  It is as simple as that!

It is good to take on new experiences just for the sake of that experience.  The only commitment necessary is to honor the intention of taking on that experience.  EGO can destroy good intention.

The expression, “Take your good old-fashioned time” makes better sense to me now more than ever before.  What’s the rush to most things…there’s no fire!

I am always finding My Way Along My Forever Path.

Blessed Be.  To All Be Blessed.
